AAU is short for Amateur Athletic Union and the organization dates all the way back to 1888! They’re still around today and while the shoe line was discontinued long ago they offer sports programs to develop amateur athletes. They have strong ties to the traveling basketball team circuits that groom future NBA stars.
What we’re focused on here is the rad sneakers that they produced back in the 1970s. This pair of vintage AAU trainers came in a vibrant blue and yellow colorway and were made in Korea. Their design seems to be modeled along the lines of some old 1970s Nike Daybreak or Elite sneakers. All in all a dope pair of stylish old school kicks.
