Karhu introduces the new, extremely lightweight Mercury — truly the spiked shoe of the future. The Mercury features the greatest track spike improvement in many years — the Ai "saber tooth'' concept, available only from Karhu. The design of the four spikes causes a natural increase in the runner's stride length, without corresponding decrease in stride cadence. Tests have proved the forward-slanting, knife-like spikes force an increase of approximately 3'2 centi-meters per stride, or almost 4'2 feet per hundred yards.
